If you're looking at this site you're either family, a close friend, or possibly some freak. Although we welcome freaks at my church my family's website is another matter and I recommend finding another site. For those friends and family members that might not get the whole web/blog/rss thing, here's a quick primer:
Email is a Chore
I spend about 60% of my life online and frankly the thought of emailing people photos, videos and random updates on the coming first grandchild is a bit of an agonizing thought. Not that I dont want to share, I just cringe at the thought of the 14,286 unread emails in my inbox. Besides, email is pretty limited and you dont want us filling up your inbox with photos anyway.
Sharing is Caring
So rather than email every time we have a thought, Danielle and I decided to be a bit more productive and start something that we might want to look back on later to see how nieve we actually were. Posting our thoughts, photos, etc... here, we'll be able to share with family and friends and also keep something around for ourseves to look at later. The nice part is that you can read as you please and not feel obligated to read whenever we feel obligated to post.
But I like Email!
OK, OK... so you like getting alerts whenever something new is added. That's what
RSS is for. With
RSS, you're subscribing to the information on the website, without having to visit the site itself. You subscribe to
RSS feeds with a feed reader. Some good examples on the Mac would be Apple Mail (for Leopard), Safari, or
Firefox. For you windows users,
here is your best option. (If that doesn't work you can use Firefox too.)
